The Tolkien Song Cycle Volume I
This is the first of two cds of music composed, sung and arranged for strings by Andi Grimsditch.
Andi is an argentine musician living in the southern mountainous region of Patagonia. Most of the cycle was composed from 1984 thru 1985 and is a musicalization of many poems taken from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. After several unsuccessful attemps the first volume was finally recorded after 17 years aprox in 2002. The music steers through a forest-like approach (rather than strong rock) combining string arrangements, some celtic touch, and the classical band instruments.

Ciclo de Canciones de Tolkien Volumen I
Este es el primero de dos cds de música compuesta, cantada y arreglada para cuerdas por Andi Grimsditch sobre poemas de Tolkien.
Andi es un músico argentino que reside en la zona montañosa del sur patagónico. El grueso del ciclo fue compuesto entre los años 1984 y 1985 y se trata de una musicalización de varios de los poemas que aparecen en “The Lord of the Rings” en inglés (El Señor de los Anillos) de J.R.R. Tolkien. Después de varios intentos infructuosos, el volumen I finalmente fue grabado en el 2002 despues de 17 años de espera. La música se orienta hacia un clima “boscoso” (más que rock pesado) combinando un abordaje semi acúsitico, con arreglos de cuerdas, un toque celta y la clásica agrupación de banda.
